Courses we teach: CICS

CICS Application Programming - 5 days

CICS (which stands for Customer Information Control System) is one of the richest online transaction management available today. It is designed to support high-volume transaction processing that is typically screen-oriented.

While many of the programs written for the CICS environment are oriented towards traditional "green screen&qout; terminals, modern-day CICS applications can be written to interface with Web Services, client-server applications, Java programs, and a variety of terminals types.

Mainframe CICS applications are written in one of several languages: COBOL, C/C++, and PL/I, with COBOL being the most common. All of these use the LE (Language Environment) infrastructure and libraries for the extant version of the z/OS operating system
